The members of Central COVID-19 Emergency Task-Force led by Mr. Palden Dhondup, Secretary of Department of Health/Chairman of the Central COVID-19 Emergency Task-Force, Mr. Dawa Phunkyi, Chief Administrator of Tibetan Delek Hospital and Dr Tenzin Tsundue, medical officer of Delek Hospital who are on a visit to Tibetan Settlements in North-East India arrived Choephelling Tibetan Settlement, Miao on August 19, 2021. The visit is aimed at monitoring the preparedness of the settlements against a possible third wave of COVID-19.

The trio were warmly welcomed by Mr. Tenzin Chokden, Settlement Officer along with Mr. Wangchen Dakpa, LTA Chairman, other representatives of different sections and members of the Choephelling COVID-19 Task-Force Team. The team visited all the sections of the settlement including the Settlement Office, Tibetan Primary Health Center and quarantine isolation ward to inspect and monitor the preparedness against a possible third wave of COVID-19. They also had a meeting with all the staffs of TPHC, members of Choephelling Covid-19 Task Force Team and with residents (15 residents only from each Camp) separately.

At the same time Mr. Palden Dhondup flags off a new vehicle which was generously funded with INR 540,000/- by Anker für Nepal-Ralf Bauer eine Kooperation mit Fundació Casa del Tibet Barcelona in order to resolve the problem and to deliver drinking water from door to door – “Choephelling Drinking Water Delivery Service”. The team left towards Tenzingang Tibetan Settlement on August 21, 2021.
